Officer off Limits - Tessa Bailey I don't think I've seen a more deserving redeeming (former ladies man) hero than Daniel Chase in a long time. Officer Off Limits is the story of Daniel Chase and Story Brooks (I absolutely love her name) and their "it-can-only-be-fate" relationship. He's the protégée of her estranged father and she's the kindergarten teacher who's lost sight of herself in the routine her life has become. Their first meeting can only be described as fate after Story flies across the country when she learns her estranged father has had a heart attack...right after she's dumped by her fiancée for a co-worker with a bob.♥WHAT I LOVED♥I loved absolutely everything about Daniel and Story. It was my first time reading a book in Tessa Bailey's Line of Duty series and I'm wondering how I missed the first two in the series. Not to worry though, they are currently downloaded to my kindle in my "read this next" category.I'm not sure where to start without gushing all over myself. Tessa Bailey has outdone herself with the character of Daniel. Redeeming an acknowledged man who abhors any sort of commitment is a challenge and one that many authors struggle with, but not Tessa Bailey. Daniel quickly owns up to the fact that his past might be a dealbreaker for a woman like Story.♥WHAT I LIKED♥I also liked Story's personality as well. She was a woman who realized that the choices she's made in the last few years are not exactly the ones she should have made and doesn't blame others for them. Story and Daniel go from 0 to 60 very quickly but it never rings false or desperate. There are a lot of hot times between the two of them and I'll never look at the Mets the same way again. I also loved Daniel's wicked tongue and Story's quick wit. Despite the hot times between the two, there was also a wonderful story woven between Daniel's past and his relationship with Story's father Jack. We mostly see Jack in the hospital but his presence was well felt, especially when he was warning Daniel away from his daughter. There's a wonderfully plotted twist at the very end that I didn't see coming but I was happy with the way they worked through it.♥WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE♥I only wish the book could have been longer. I wasn't ready to let Daniel and Story go at the end but I hope that we get to see more of them in future "Line of Duty" books.
